Surah Fussilaat, Verses 34 and 35 (41:34 – 35)
“(Since) good and evil cannot be equal, repel evil with (something) that is better – and lo! The one between whom and you there was enmity, may become as though he had always been a true friend! Yet (to achieve) this is not given to any but those who are patient in adversity: it is not given to any but those endowed with the greatest good fortune!”
These two aspirational verses have been my long- time favorites and are the ‘gold standard’ set for humanity in the Quran.
